This is a traditional stone-built fisherman’s cottage close to a lovely sandy beach and golf course. The accommodation is self-catering and is simply and comfortably furnished with a cosy atmosphere.
The cottage is entered directly from the lane and the front door is only 10 yds. from the beach. There is a side gate leading into a small enclosed courtyard which is a sun trap and a safe place for small children to play in. It is attractive with flowers and white washed walls. There is no direct sea view as the cottage stands side ways on to the beach.
Elie is a popular holiday resort with a large sandy beach and with canoeing, windsurfing and other watersports available at the harbour. There is both an 18 hole and 9 hole golf course and other leisure facilities including tennis courts and a driving range.
The coastline is very attractive with many small East Neuk fishing towns and harbours and St. Andrews is only a 20 minute drive away. There are numerous golf courses within half an hour’s drive of Elie.
On the ground floor there is a sitting room with an open fire and with a small bedroom off with full size bunk beds. A twin-bedded room with french windows out to the courtyard, a kitchen with dining area and a bathroom with shower and bath. There are steep stairs going up from the sitting room to a double bedroom with velux windows.
The cottage has gas central heating and an open fire in the sitting room. Cooking is by electric cooker - there is an automatic washing machine, microwave and colour T.V. There is a telephone for incoming calls.
The cottage sleeps six and there is a cot available by prior arrangement.
